Private Intensives for Couples
Sometimes weekly sessions just aren't enough. You need uninterrupted time — to slow down, listen differently, and get underneath the patterns that keep pulling you back to the same place.

A private couples intensive offers that space. Two and a half days, held in the quiet beauty of the Colorado mountains, focused entirely on you. It's deep work, held gently — guided by an experienced Imago therapist who blends the depth of therapy with the clarity of education and the restorative pace of a retreat.
What Makes This Different
Here's what sets my intensives apart:
Imago + modern neuroscience
My approach is grounded in Imago Relationship Therapy, but it's evolved with current research from interpersonal neurobiology, polyvagal theory, and attachment science. I'm not just teaching dialogue techniques — we're working with your nervous system, understanding how past patterns show up in present reactions, and creating new experiences of safety that rewire old protective responses.

Experiential depth, not just insight
This isn't a weekend of talking about your relationship — it's about feeling shifts happen in real time. I weave in mindfulness, grounding, and body awareness throughout — not as add-ons, but as essential tools for helping you regulate while you practice new ways of connecting. Couples often say they experience transformation, not just understanding.

Flexible and personalized
My intensives are not one-size-fits-all. Some couples benefit from a clear, structured framework, while others need a more fully customized approach. In either format, I’m attuned to what you need in the moment — whether that’s more space to process, more psychoeducation, or more guided dialogue practice — and I adjust the pacing and depth accordingly.

Therapist + educator
You get both clinical depth and practical clarity. You'll leave not only feeling more connected, but with tangible frameworks, language, and practices you can use long after the intensive ends.

The Colorado setting
My dedicated home office in the Colorado mountains is currently under construction and will be the primary location for intensives once complete.
Until then, intensives take place in a private space you arrange locally — an Airbnb or similar — where you can step away from daily life and focus fully on each other.

For couples based in Colorado or Texas, I'm also available to travel to you. We can discuss logistics and any additional costs during our consultation.

Who This Is For
You've probably done therapy before. But now you're ready for something more immersive - not just incremental progress, but real traction in a concentrated amount of time.

Maybe you're at a crossroads—you're considering separation (but you really don't want that), or you're facing a major transition - marriage, a move, a new baby, the empty nest - and you need clarity and a structured way to reconnect before deciding what comes next.

Or maybe you're not in crisis at all—your relationship is good, but something feels off. There's distance you didn't used to have, conflict patterns that keep repeating, or a loss of warmth that's hard to name. You want to restore what's been lost before it grows into something bigger.

You might be coming from out of town—drawn to the idea of a destination experience that feels meaningful rather than clinical. Or maybe your schedules just don't allow for weekly therapy, and you want high-impact work without those constraints.

Most of all, you're emotionally curious— you're introspective, growth-oriented, interested in understanding why patterns repeat - not just learning communication tools, but cultivating deeper awareness of yourself and each other.

If any of this resonates, let's talk.
What to Expect
Before anything else, we'll have a consultation — a chance for us to talk through where you are, what you're hoping for, and whether an intensive feels like the right step. I want you to feel confident before we commit to anything, and I want to make sure this is the right container for where you are as a couple.

If we move forward, you'll complete an intake process tailored to the format you've chosen (more on that below). This prep work isn't just logistics — it's where I begin to understand your story, your patterns, and what you most need from our time together.

During the intensive itself, we'll move between structured dialogue practice, psychoeducation about your nervous systems and patterns, experiential exercises, and reflection.
There will be moments that feel challenging and moments that feel relieving. You'll learn tools — but more importantly, you'll practice new ways of being together until they start to feel natural.

After we finish, you won't just leave with a good feeling and hope it sticks. There's a follow-up session built in, along with materials to take home — so the work has somewhere to land once real life resumes.

My Commitment to You & Important Considerations
An intensive is a profound commitment. To ensure it is a safe and effective experience for you, and a sustainable one for me, I want to be clear about our framework.

Is an Intensive Right for You?
This deep-dive work is for couples seeking transformation, including those in significant pain. The key is your shared willingness to engage productively over our days together.

This format is not a right fit if the following are concerns:
-
Active addiction or untreated serious mental illness.
-
An ongoing affair without a commitment to transparency.
-
Any dynamic involving intimidation, threats, or physical harm.

We will be building a temporary but powerful "laboratory" for a new way of relating. For that to work, we need a basic willingness from both people to experiment with new ways of relating. If the hurt is so great that one or both partners are unable to step out of a cycle of blame and defense, a different therapeutic approach may be a better starting point. This intensive is a structured, guided process—not a space for uncontained venting or attack.

Our screening call will ensure this is the right container for you.

Our Roles in This Process
My role is to be your guide, educator, and a steady holder of a safe and confidential container. Your role is to bring openness, curiosity, and a commitment to engaging fully in the process. Lasting change is always a collaborative effort.
Two Ways to Work Together
I offer two formats for private intensives, depending on the level of customization and support you're looking for:

Foundation Intensive – $5,000
A focused, guided experience following a clear and proven framework. This option offers depth and momentum while maintaining a more streamlined structure.

Tailored Intensive – $7,500
A fully tailored experience designed around your specific relationship dynamics. This includes personalized materials, deeper preparation, and a more customized integration process.
We can talk through which format would best support you during your consultation.

Foundation Intensive —$5000
Some couples don't want extensive customization in an intensive — they want to step into something that's already been thoughtfully built and simply do the work. That's exactly what this is.

The Foundation Intensive follows a framework I've developed through years of working with couples — a clear arc that moves through the relational insights, dialogue practices, and experiential tools that form the core of meaningful, lasting change. You'll complete an intake beforehand so I understand where you're starting, and we'll have a pre-intensive session to establish safety and set the stage. But the design is mine, and that's part of the value.

You'll work from a couples manual throughout our time together — a substantial resource that you take home and keep. After the intensive, you'll receive a follow-up summary with key takeaways and practices to continue the work.

What's included:
-
Intake to orient our work together
-
90-minute pre-intensive session
-
2½-day intensive (approximately 17 hours)
-
Couples manual
-
Follow-up summary with practices to continue
-
90-minute follow-up session

Tailored Intensive—$7500
This intensive is built entirely around you — not a framework applied to your relationship, but an experience designed from the ground up with the two of you in mind.

The process begins well before we meet. Through a detailed intake, I gather not just your relationship history and patterns, but the fuller picture of who you are — your personalities, your interests, what you know helps you open up, how you each move through the world.
That information shapes everything: the manual I create specifically for you, the pacing of our days together, and the tools and approaches I weave in. If movement helps one of you regulate, we'll move. If a particular therapeutic approach fits your situation, we'll include it.

What's included:
-
Detailed pre-intensive written intake
-
90-minute pre-intensive session
-
2½-day intensive (approximately 17 hours)
-
Personalized couples manual created specifically for you
-
Experience designed around you — not a preset curriculum, but a structure built for your relationship.
-
Comprehensive integration guide with observations, breakthroughs, and structured practices
-
90-minute follow-up session
